i have a thing for... FREE SHIPPING

Photos from Storets

i mean, who isn't constantly looking for the latest, trendiest fashion to buy?
becoz of this, online shopping has been overwhelmingly popular in the last couple of years, more and more brands are starting to have online stores in order to fight competition.
quite many of them, still requires you to pay for shipping, especially when you are an overseas shopper. therefore whenever i discovered a new free shipping worldwide site, i would feel like i have found a gold mine!!! XD

this recent 'gold mine' i have discovered - storets - has such nice pieces!!! their buyers picked so well. usually in a site there are pieces that are great and some are not as good... but in theirs all the stuff are brilliant!! it's a bit pricey but who cares when you can get an Alexander wang look skirt for $36 usd? oh dear i have already put too many items into the shopping cart...

check out the store here: http://storets.com/

i have a thing for... MY BETTER HALF

don't you find the wedding photography these days are getting more and more formulated?
yes... beautiful gowns, scenery, exaggerated makeup and hair... for those who would prefer more natural pictures their choice seem so limited.
just came across this blog series 'my better half' from amanda jane jones, combining photography and graphic design, telling stories and minute details about the couple. very simple yet you can taste the sweetness of simplicity.
aren't marriage supposed to be like that?

i have a thing for... TOPSHOP AW12 COLLECTION

 From Topshop blog 'inside out'

it is bloody hot every day in HK. seriously, the moment you step out the building you start sweating. (today it is 32 degrees celsius and it feels like 40 under the sun) i envy those who live in the colder countries where you never feel hot at all, and bloggers who live there can always look as chic as they want with layering of clothing and accessories without getting cooked.

and in the meantime, AW collections arrive in all stores quietly among the crazy sales. it must be hard to imagine how to dress in Winter during this horribly boiling weather, but then, planning for the wardrobe is always essential - that's what trend forecasts are for!! lol

so, what do you think about the topshop AW12 collection? i am loving the colour palette, trims, boxy silhouettes, it is not as luxurious as the h&m one, but certainly more suitable for people who adore a bit of military style.

i have a thing for... FASHIONISTA COPYCATS

zara... i know i know... studs are sooooo hot right now, so hot that you have to put studs onto every single product in your store... i am always grateful for your quick sense of trend spotting, making it slightly more affordable for us designers who are usually underpaid but still big fans of your stuff. i just hope you won't sue anyone who tries to copy your stuff in the near future coz you are doing it yourself too.

but seriously, studs on every single thing? seriously?

i have a thing for... MARGAUX LANGE

finally found out 'who did this to Barbie and Ken'. if you have read my last blog entry you will have seen the barbie lips necklace which i think is the creepiest necklace is the whole wide world, and today i came across this article from Stylesight about the whole collection of plastic doll parts accessories. it is really an extraordinary concept, to an extend i think they are not for wearing, but also an art collection that creates noise - i personally felt dolls being ripped apart are kinda violent and yet as kids we might have done similar things to our toys... and at the same time it is ridiculously hilarious, who could have thought a bunch of asses and nipples can become jewelry?

Margaux Lange - I enjoy the funny juxtaposition of wearing the body, on the body. Barbie has become the accessory instead of being accessorized. I take pleasure in the contrast and contradiction of transforming something mass-produced into unique, handmade, wearable pieces of art.
